Calculus results from the accumulation of inorganic substances in plaque. These are hard white or yellowish deposits that occur on the teeth in the area where teeth and gums connect. Calculus itself is not a cause of dental diseases, the cause is all the bacteria and plaque that accumulate on the calculus and it contains factors that lead to their occurrence.
To help you clean your teeth of calculus in the least painful and quickest way possible, we use a modern method of cleaning and sandblasting, which removes the tiniest bits of calculus from your teeth.
With the Air flow system, we remove calculus with the help of a controlled stream of fine particles of sodium bicarbonate in a stream of water and compressed air. These fine particles do not cause discomfort, are almost imperceptible and their taste is pleasant for the patients. This procedure does not only remove plaque, but also pigmentation incurred by consuming coffee and cigarettes, and all of this takes 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the amount of deposits.
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that lets you make the existing colour of the teeth several shades lighter. It is one of the most popular methods for achieving a radiant smile. In our clinic we offer three methods of teeth whitening.
ENDO whitening
This procedure allows us to whiten devitalized teeth, i.e. treated teeth that have turned grey or yellow because of disease. After two to three visits to our dentist, you will get and see the desired results.
This method allows us to whiten a single tooth as well. A gel is injected into the tooth and bleaches the tooth structure. In this way, the natural colour of the tooth, which would take on a darker shade and spoil the aesthetics, is restored.
Whitening using the Beyond system
Whitening using the Beyond system is a very fast method of whitening with the help of a special lamp and gel that is applied to the teeth prior to the procedure.
In order to whiten teeth using this system, it is necessary to visit a dentist to carry out the procedure. The treatment is carried out in several stages. In the first stage, it is important to have your teeth cleaned of calculus and other stains. In the second stage, the doctor applies gel to the teeth and in the final stage the teeth are whitened using the BEYOND lamp, which will produce the desired results.
Whitening Opalesence 16% (at home)
If you want to whiten your teeth at home with just one visit to the dentist, this method is ideal. Your only need to visit the dentist to clean off calculus and other pigmentation from the tooth surface and to take an impression in order to make an individual splint.
The next step is to wait for a short period of time, take the splint and Opalesence gel and start whitening at home the same day. It is important not to overuse the gel to avoid uneven whitening. Therefore, splints have specially designed slots into which the gel is applied. After you fill the slots, you can put in the splints and wear them while you sleep and you can see the first results the very next morning. The procedure should be repeated for two or three days.
